Little Hulton Sure Start, Manchester
This project, with Walker Simpson Architects, comprised a new two storey framed structure bridging over and connected into an existing single storey nursery. Storey height trusses are incorporated on all sides and are supported on pairs of raking columns to create large column free spaces at ground floor and first floor. Full height folding glazed screens at ground floor open out into newly created terrace areas adjoining community workshop and cafe spaces.
Barlow Sports Centre, Manchester
For Client St Ambrose Barlow School with Walker Simpson Architects, this project involved the construction of a new build sports hall including badminton courts, climbing wall, and a dance studio, as well as changing room and staff office facilities.
Nunsmoor Sure Start, Newcastle
A new build Sure Start nursery and community centre on a sensitive parkland site in Newcastle with Mosedale Gillatt Architects. The project involved the grouting up of former mine workings under the site prior to building the new foundations.
St Edwards College, Liverpool
At St Edwards College in Liverpool, Joule have worked with architects ShedKM on a number of small projects including the alteration and refurbishment of existing sports changing room facilities and a new first floor extension to provide a Home Economics classroom and facilities.
