Aeroworks, Manchester
The project involved the phased refurbishment
and extension to this existing three storey framed building originally
built as a factory for aircraft components.
With Stephenson Bell

and offices for let. The initial phase of the works included
pre-strengthening of the structure to allow for a future extension of
the building.

outline design of this six storey concrete framed building for the
Walsall Housing Group. The building incorporates a dramatic centrally
positioned concrete circulation drum through which the structure derives
its stability and a 4 storey cantilevered box over the canal housing
meeting rooms and offices.

accommodation with new glazed facades and lift and stair cores.

and storage kettles to insert three new accommodation floors with
carefully detailed connections back to the existing primary frame. A
new fully glazed penthouse tops the building, replacing the ad-hoc roof
extensions and plant.
Chancery Place, Manchester

highly efficient reinforced concrete building was designed to maximize
the land area available by cantilevering out above pavements, and its
stepped profile at high level reflecting rights to light agreements.
Having

the Client sold on the site for completion by others.
